7 Mary Gay Grigg: Slovenia, Bosnia and Serbia Today

Our own intrepid traveler to parts little known, Mary Gay will give us an illustrated update on her recent adventures in Slovenia, Bosnia, and Serbia. Once again she and her husband Dicky have explored fascinating parts of the world that are off the beaten path for most of us. She even had her picture taken with the exiled Crowned Prince of Serbia! 14 Katherine Brimberry: Flatbed Press and Fine Art Printing

Flatbed Press was established in 1989 to be a publishing workshop for fine art prints and a site for a community of creative professionals. The aesthetics of Flatbed Press has been likened to New York City’s Chelsea-district warehouse galleries.Katherine will describe the history of Flatbed Press, how it became known as the longest established fine art press in Texas and she will give an inside peek at how a “multiple original” or fine art print is created. Katherine will be introduced by Rose Betty Williams.

21 Zelos Trio: Dvorak’s Piano Trio Op 90 “Dumky”

28 Dr.Douglas Dempster, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the
University of Texas at Austin

What a treat we have in store! The charming and handsome Dr. Dempster oversees the College of Fine Arts which includes Theatre, Dance, Music, Art and Art History. The College also includes Texas Performing Arts, formerly known as the UT Performing Arts Center, Austin’s largest performance venue. Douglas has taught courses ranging from art appreciation to the history of dramatic theory. Whatever the subject, his presentation will be interesting and entertaining! Jan Roberts will introduce Dr. Dempster.

graduate student at The University of Texas, Erika will sing arias by Schubert, Satie and Brahms.This outstanding vocal artist has performed with the Opera in the Ozarks and the Austin Lyric Opera. Phyllis Noonan will introduce Erika.
